Liberatha Alibalio – Born in Kagera, Tanzania, Alibalio is a contemporary textile and multimedia artist based in Dar es Salaam. She is inspired by self-knowledge, history, experiences of early life adaptation and how it informs the current consciousness, and its possibilities to contemporary narratives. Her work is storytelling, relearning and tracing patterns of faded nature in spirit and materiality into forming new identities, connecting places and people. She has participated in several exhibitions including the East Africa Art Biennale (2019), Art Circle Gallery Nairobi (2021), Congo Biennale Kinshasa DRC (2022) and Nafasi Academy (2020).
